DIY Halloween Spider Hair Bow Tutorial
Make a cute and spooky Halloween spider hair bow with faux leather and a cutting machine. This beginner-friendly project is perfect for Halloween outfits, party accessories, costumes, craft fairs, or handmade gifts.
What You Need
- Faux leather
- Cutting machine, such as ScanNCut, Cricut, or Silhouette
- Glue gun
- Hair bow, hair clip, or barrette
- Spider bow SVG file
Step 1: Prepare and Test Cut
Upload your spider hair bow file into your cutting machine software. You can make your own design or use a ready-made file from my shop.
Before cutting the full design, always make a test cut first. This helps you check if your blade depth, pressure, and material settings are correct for your faux leather.
Step 2: Check Your Blade Settings
After the test cut, check if the faux leather cut cleanly. If not, adjust your settings and test again.
If you use the manual ScanNCut blade, the settings can vary depending on the blade holder. Sometimes the sticker on the holder does not line up correctly. To fix this, turn the blade all the way out and make a new mark on top where the blade fully extends. This makes it easier to set your blade accurately every time.
Step 3: Cut and Assemble the Pieces
Once your settings are right, cut all the spider bow pieces.
Use a glue gun to stick the layers together. Work carefully and line up each piece before the glue dries.
Step 4: Add the Hair Clip
Flip the bow over and glue on your hair bow, hair clip, or barrette. Make sure it is centered and secure.
Let the glue dry completely before using or packaging your bow.
Finished Halloween Bow
That’s it! You made a spooky spider hair bow, perfect for Halloween costumes, parties, boutique bows, or fun handmade accessories.
